Opportunity
We’re looking for an Embedded Team Lead to join our growing team in a full-time role, and contribute to development of vehicle electronics and control systems. This position is intended for an experienced candidate who has led development teams, can independently solve complex embedded software problems, contribute to system-level technical decisions, and work directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of major software components or projects, contribute to architecture and design decisions, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
This is an in-office role based in Winnipeg, MB.
Your primary responsibilities will include:

Collaborate directly with clients to understand ECS requirements, pain points,
performance goals, technical constraints, and project priorities. -
Design, architect, develop, integrate, and validate embedded software systems for heavy equipment and industrial vehicles.

Develop complex embedded applications and graphical user interfaces using technologies such as C/C++, Embedded Linux, Qt, Python, etc.

Provide technical leadership for vehicle electronics involving J1939 CAN communication, wireless communication, 12V/24V electrical systems, sensors, actuators, controllers, and vehicle electrification.

Define and influence software architecture, system interfaces, development approaches, and technical standards across projects.

Lead and participate in design reviews, code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex technical issues.

Collaborate with electrical, hardware, and mechanical engineers to integrate embedded software into complete system architectures.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate developers, including supporting technical growth, reviewing work, sharing best practices, facilitating technical discussions, and helping team members resolve technical challenges.

Support project teams by identifying technical risks, estimating development effort, communicating constraints and trade-offs, helping coordinate technical activities, and ensuring alignment on technical approaches and project priorities.

Develop and maintain technical documentation to support engineering, technicians, field service, diagnostics, and maintenance.

Lead or contribute to hazard analysis, risk assessments, safety requirements, verification activities, and engineering change processes.

Promote consistency in development practices, coding standards, documentation, and technical approaches across the development team.

Requirements

A degree/diploma in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

5+ years of professional embedded software development experience in industrial, automotive, off-highway, robotics, controls, or a related environment.

Strong proficiency in C/C++, including experience designing, debugging, and maintaining production embedded software.

Strong understanding of embedded systems, software architecture, real-time behaviour, hardware/software interfaces, and software development best practices.
-
Experience with CAN-based communication; practical experience with J1939 or similar vehicle communication protocols is strongly preferred.

Ability to independently troubleshoot complex software and system-level issues using a structured approach.

Experience participating in design reviews, code reviews, verification/testing activities, and technical documentation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

We’re looking for a Computer Science Co-op to join our growing team for the winter Co-op term and contribute to the ongoing development of our SaaS platform designed to support manufacturing and engineering teams. With plans to advance the platform toward production readiness and commercialization in 2027, this is an exciting opportunity to get involved during a key stage of product development. This position is ideal for a student interested in backend development, data processing, and solving real-world engineering challenges.
You’ll work alongside our development team to build and improve a data-driven platform that transforms unstructured technical information into structured, usable system models. You'll have opportunities to take ownership of defined software components while gaining hands-on experience in software development, testing, and technical problem-solving.
Your role:
As a Computer Science Co-op, you will work alongside our development team to design, build, test, and improve software components for our SaaS platform. Your responsibilities may include:
